Inside Hiring Report Shows Positive Industry Trends, ‘Glimmer of Hope’

Q1 Inside Hiring ReportWe’ve put the finishing touches on our first Inside Hiring Report. You can download a PDF version of the report here.

In it, you’ll find an objective industry-by-industry breakdown of hiring trends in Atlanta, Philadelphia and other cities during the first quarter. You’ll also find:

  • What positions were hot and which ones were not in Q1 for each of firstPRO’s nine verticals, including Legal.
  • What the top-paying positions were.
  • Recruiters’ outlook.

You’ll notice the long winter is finally over. Things aren’t back to “normal” yet. For example, Junior Associates had a rough time in Q1. But many law firms and companies are hiring once again. Demand is ramping up. Budgets are loosening. Things are moving in the right direction.

I’m personally seeing some very positive trends including:

  • Shorter “sales cycle” in terms of hiring for many law firms (although not all).
  • Increased overall demand for Lateral Associates.
  • Increased demand for salespeople for several verticals — which is always a good bellwether for growth.

Q1 Overview Graph
In fact, all of our verticals registered growth from Q1 2009 to Q1 2010. My vertical, Legal Recruiting, increased on average 79 percent from the previous quarter.

I encourage you to check out the Q1 Inside Hiring Report…especially if you’re tired of bad news.
